ભગવતી સ્ફુટ છું ...



હે મા ... આભાર મા ...

તું છે તો આ લટારે છું 
પૃથ્વી પર ચારપાયે છું 
ભવોભવને સરવાળે છું 
ચરણરજ ને મથાળે છું...

તું છે તો આ કિનારે છું 
શ્વાસજગતનાં હવાલે છું
અંતઃસ્થ સતનાં પનારે છું
સમર્પણને ઉપકારે છું ...

તું છે તો આ ગણિતે છું 
ગણતર વિનાના આંકડે છું 
ખુલ્લી ધરામાં જીવસ્વ છું 
પંચમહાભૂતનાં માંડવે છું ...

તું છે તો અંબર અંબારે છું 
ખોળો તારો ને સૃષ્ટિધારક છું 
આ વ્યક્તિ થકી ઊપાસક છું 
ખૂણેખાંચરે ભગવતી સ્ફુટ છું ...

આભારી સદા તારી ...

આ અંદર કોણ જીવે છે?
પરભવનું ભાથું પીએ છે
સંચિત જોગને લહીયે છે.
શરીર અશરીરી સંગે છે.

અંતર આટલું ઊંડે છે.
ખાઈ નહીં ત્યાં દરિયો છે.
આભથી વધું ઊંચે છે.
એ વિશ્વ એ પછી ખૂલે છે.

યોગ જોગ બંધબેસતો છે.
અરસપરસ ઘટતો છે.
મૂક પ્રેક્ષક, મસ્ત માણે છે.
યોગીએ પકડી વાટ છે.

સમસ્ત, અસ્ત બન્ને છે.
સમજ - અમલની રાહે છે.
હરિ નાડ પકડી ચાલે છે.

ઝીલું છું ને એ જ છું
ભેદરેખાની પેલે પાર છું.

અહીં જ છું ને આ જ છું
એ ચેતનાનું ઊઘાડ છું.


સ્થિર છું ને સ્થાયી છું.
આવાગમનને પડકાર છું.
જડેલ છું કે વહેણ છું?
એ ચેતનાનું સમાસ છું.


ગ્રાહ્ય છું ને વાહક છું.
સંગ્રહનો થડકાર છું.
શેષ છું 'મોરલી' ને વિશેષ છું
એ ચેતનાનો ફેલાવ છું.

એ અંદર સ્થાયી બેઠું છે,

એ જીવંત થઈ બેઠું છે,
નશ્વર ઊઠે ને સ્પર્શ ફકત
એ શૂન્ય કરવા બેઠું છે.


સંનિધિમય સજગ સતત
એ સ્ત્રોત થઈ બેઠું છે,
નીંદર, નિશ્રા કે તરબતર
એ સત્ સક્રિય બેઠું છે.


અહો! આ તમામ પળો જીવન
એ સહ - સમગ્ર બેઠું છે,
'મોરલી', એકએક સંગે શ્વાસ
એ સજીવ બની બેઠું છે.

ફરીયાદ નથી કોઈ તાક નથી,
હરતું ફરતું રમતું છે.
આ જીવન તારે ચરણે ધરી,
બસ! ખાલી અમસ્તુ શ્વસતું છે...


ન ગૂંથવું કંઈ ન વાળવું કંઈ,
પોત મલમલી લીસું છે.
આ જીવન તારે ખોળે કરી,
બસ! પાલવમાં લપેટાયેલ શિશું છે...


અવશેષ નથી કંઈ શેષ નથી,
અત્ર તત્ર સર્વત્ર છે.
આ જીવન તારે તેજે ભળી,
બસ! ભાનુ કિરણમાં ઊગતું છે...


તેં, ભરપૂર ભરી, અણુ કણુ દિપ્તી,
ચૈત્યતત્વ જ સર્વસ્વ છે.

That a diviner Force might enter life, 
A breath of Godhead greaten human time.

Covering their lives with her strong passionate hands

ધન્યતા નહીં તો બીજું શું? 
જ્યાં સંવાદમાં ફક્ત હું ને તું!
ઝલાયેલો હાથ ને હુફાળું મૌન.

વણ ઊદગાર્યે ઉકલતા સૂર
વણમાગ્યે ઊભરાતાં ગુણ
છેદ ઉડતા નાનામોટા ગૌણ.

ખુદથી વધીને સરકતું 'સહુ'.
જાતને પર્યાયે સમસ્તનું રૂપ

Its power was to reveal divinity. 
Infinite, coeval with the mind of God, 
It bore within itself a seed, a flame,

It is as though you carried ... as though the Divine were with you all the time; you walk and He walks with you, you sleep and He sleeps with you, you eat and He eats with you, you think and He thinks with you, you love and He is the love you have. Extract from the book - Guidance from Sri Aurobindo by Shri Nagin Doshi...

Nagin: Yesterday I was talking with A before I went to bed. This morning when I got up, I found my vital unusually restless. But there had been no conflict or opposition in our talk. Why then such a strong turmoil in the vital?
Sri Aurobindo: It is not only talk that creates a turmoil – disturbing forces can come in by contact also. There may be restlessness or confusion of consciousness in the person who talks with you to which he does not give expression or is not even aware that he is like that, or he may bring forces from others. Again it may be that you met or contacted in your sleep the vital of others or some vital forces in the atmosphere. Turmoil may come in many ways.

Nagin: How does one “bring forces from others” and then pass them on while talking?
Sri Aurobindo: There is no how to it; it so happens. Whenever one mixes with others, things are passing from one to the other. If I talk with a number of people, I bring away with me in my atmosphere many forces that were around them; they may affect me or not, but they remain for a time at least. If in that time I speak with another man, he may receive them from me. It is like a man carrying germs with him from a person he has visited; he may not fall ill himself (or he may), but, even if he does not, he can pass them on to another man he visits afterwards – who falls ill. It is the same thing here in the supraphysical parts.

Nagin: After talking with X, I often feel empty or uneasy or a kind of disturbing restlessness.
Sri Aurobindo: The disturbing restlessness may come from him for he has always been restless; the uneasiness may come from the contact with his obscure atmosphere; but the emptiness can only come from the reasons aforesaid.


Nagin: The last three days I talked so much that all my inner energy was exhausted.
Sri Aurobindo: Talking has a very exhausting effect for the inner energies -unless the inner itself controls the talk.  Everyone who lives much inside tends to feel too much talking a fatiguing thing and quite shallow and unnecessary unless it is talk that comes from within. Of course if you make a practice of talking much, that will bring you outside, externalise you and then you will no longer find it fatiguing even if you talk for 18 hours out of the 24.

Nagin: It is my perpetual experience that the less I speak, the better my inner being feels. If I talk more than usual, it brings a headache! Is this not a sign of disability?
Sri Aurobindo: It is not a sign of disability. It is a characteristic of the inward consciousness in sadhana not to throw itself out too much in speech, as that tends towards externalisation and dispersion. The headache is a sign that this is being too much done.

Nagin: Why does even a slight casual talk create a disturbance in my work?
Sri Aurobindo: It is because by talking one passes into another consciousness. That is so long as the inner being has not attained a constant and even calm poise.  It is no use giving up talking altogether – the proper course is to speak usefully to people but not to talk for the sake of talking.

Nagin: Can one maintain peace within, even while talking and mixing with others?
Sri Aurobindo: Possible only if the inner being can separate itself in the peace and remain unaffected by the outer movements and contacts.
One has to go inside into the inner being and one can minimise contacts, if necessary, not as an absolute rule – provided there is a real living in the inner being and sufficient contact with outside things not to lose one’s hold of practical realities. But if there is an isolation which brings depression, inertia, unhappiness, gloom or else morbidity of any kind, then it is evident that the retirement is not wholesome.


Nagin: If one tries to deal with the outer world without that poise of peace and silence, is he not likely to be entangled by the vital forces?
Sri Aurobindo: Yes, but in retirement from the outside things also vital forces can get hold of you.

અખંડ આભને ક્યાં હોય વિસ્તરણની આફત!
બારીએથી નિહાળતી દ્રષ્ટિ હોય અણસમજ. 
સીમિત માપદંડ ને મર્યાદિત હોય અભિગમ. 

અસીમ સાગરને ક્યાં હોય વહેણની ગોઠવણ!
તળાવમાં તરતી હોડી હોય તટ અસરગ્રસ્ત.
કનડગત ને કરકસરયુક્ત હોય સુષ્ક હ્રદય.

અફાટ રણને ક્યાં હોય વિખરાવનું ગણતર!
ઢગલીની રેતીને હોય કણ કણનું વળગણ.
આકર્ષણને આધિન હોય સંકુચિત વલણ. 

અમર સત્યને ક્યાં હોય સ્વયંભૂ વર્ગીકરણ!
પદ, પક્ષ, પ્રકાર હોય પરિણામ દ્રષ્ટિભ્રમણ. 
અનન્ય ઉદ્દેશલક્ષી જ હોય પ્રત્યેક હકીકત.

“There is one fundamental perception indispensable towards any integral knowledge or many-sided experience of this Infinite. It is to realise the Divine in its essential self and truth unaltered by forms and phenomena. Otherwise we are likely to remain caught in the net of appearances or wander confusedly in a chaotic multitude of cosmic or particular aspects, and if we avoid this confusion, it will be at the price of getting chained to some mental formula or shut up in a limited personal experience. The one secure and all-reconciling truth which is the very foundation of the universe is this that life is the manifestation of an uncreated Self and Spirit, and the key to life’s hidden secret is the true relation of this Spirit with its own created existences. There is behind all this life the look of an eternal Being upon its multitudinous becomings; there is around and everywhere in it the envelopment and penetration of a manifestation in time by an unmanifested timeless Eternal. But this knowledge is valueless for Yoga if it is only an intellectual and metaphysical notion void of life and barren of consequence; a mental realisation alone cannot be sufficient for the seeker. For what Yoga searches after is not truth of thought alone or truth of mind alone, but the dynamic truth of a living and revealing spiritual experience. There must awake in us a constant indwelling and enveloping nearness, a vivid perception, a close feeling and communion, a concrete sense and contact of a true and infinite Presence always and everywhere. That Presence must remain with us as the living, pervading Reality in which we and all things exist and move and act, and we must feel it always and everywhere, concrete, visible, inhabiting all things; it must be patent to us as their true Self, tangible as their imperishable Essence, met by us closely as their inmost Spirit. To see, to feel, to sense, to contact in every way and not merely to conceive this Self and Spirit here in all existences and to feel with the same vividness all existences in this Self and Spirit, is the fundamental experience which must englobe all other knowledge.


This infinite and eternal Self of things is an omnipresent Reality, one existence everywhere; it is a single unifying presence and not different in different creatures; it can be met, seen or felt in its completeness in each soul or each form in the universe. For its infinity is spiritual and essential and not merely a boundlessness in Space or an endlessness in Time; the Infinite can be felt in an infinitesimal atom or in a second of time as convincingly as in the stretch of the aeons or the stupendous enormity of the intersolar spaces. The knowledge or experience of it can begin anywhere and express itself through anything; for the Divine is in all, and all is the Divine.” Sa

“You have often told us that our activities must be an offering to the Divine. What does it mean exactly, and how to do it? For instance, when one plays tennis or basketball, how does one do that as an offering? Mental formations are not enough, naturally!

It means that what you do should not be done with a personal, egoistic aim, for success, for glory, for gain, for material profit or out of vanity, but as a service and an offering, in order to become more conscious of the divine will and to give oneself more entirely to it, until one has made enough progress to know and feel that it is the Divine who acts in you, His force that animates you and His will that supports you – not only a mental knowledge, but the sincerity of a state of consciousness and the power of a living experience.
For that to be possible, all egoistic motives and all egoistic reactions must disappear.”

Yoga means union with the Divine, and the union is effected through offering — it is founded on the offering of yourself to the Divine. . . . You must feel at every step that you belong to the Divine; you must have the constant experience that, in whatever you think or do, it is always the Divine Consciousness that is acting through you. You have no longer anything that you can call your own; you feel everything as coming from the Divine, and you have to offer it back to its source. When you can realise that, then even the smallest thing to which you do not usually pay much attention or care, ceases to be trivial and insignificant; it becomes full of meaning and it opens up a vast horizon beyond. Overgrow your small egoistic personality and become a worthy child of our Mother India, fulfil your duties with honesty and rectitude, and always keep cheerful and confident, with a steady trust in the Divine’s Grace.

If you were asked to sum up, just in one sentence, your vision of India, what would be your answer?
India’s true destiny is to be the Guru of the world.

Similarly, if you were asked to comment on the reality as you see it, how would you do so in one sentence?
The present reality is a big falsehood ― hiding an eternal truth.


What, according to you, are the three main barriers that stand between the vision and the reality?
(a) Ignorance; (b) fear; (c) falsehood.

Are you satisfied with the over-all progress India has made since Independence?
No.

What is our most outstanding achievement in recent times? Why do you consider it so important?
Waking up of the yearning for Truth. Because without Truth there is no reality.

Likewise, can you name our saddest failure? On what grounds do you regard it as so tragic?
Insincerity. Because insincerity leads to ruin.

India must be saved for the good of the world since India alone can lead the world to peace and a new world order. 

Divine Power alone can help India. If you can build faith and cohesion in the country it is much more powerful than any man-made power. 

There must be a group forming a strong body of cohesive will with the spiritual knowledge to save India and the world. It is India that can bring Truth in the world. By manifestation of the Divine Will and Power alone, India can preach her message to the world and not by imitating the materialism of the West. By following the Divine Will India shall shine at the top of the spiritual mountain and show the way of Truth and organise world unity. 
The future of India is very clear. India is the Guru of the world. The future structure of the world depends on India. India is the living soul. India is incarnating the spiritual knowledge in the world. The Government of India ought to recognise the significance of India in this sphere and plan their action accordingly.
